Meet Anna Rolskaya
Anna Rolskaya is a modern abstract painter who lives in Lisbon, Portugal and produces large-format original paintings, the size of which ranges from 50 x 70 cm to 150 x 100 cm; her works are held in private collections in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and in Europe.
Rolskaya was born and received her training in Moscow and then went to Portugal in 2015 to do a master's in Communication Design; since then she has lived and worked in Lisbon and the training she received there still influences the structure of each of her canvases.
Each painting starts with a diluted colour wash which establishes the composition and value, and then it is developed using gesso and dark areas. For her colour is something that should be recognised rather than selected.
