What Neither Could Reach Alone is a large-scale abstract painting by Lisbon-based artist Anna Rolskaya. Layered acrylic and oil pastel create a composition of plum, violet, dusty pink, pale green, turquoise, cream, burnt orange, and deep charcoal.

Broad forms, translucent passages, scratched lines, and smaller marks move across the canvas. Dense dark areas contrast with softer, luminous shapes. Overlapping gestures create an interconnected composition that remains intentionally unresolved.

The title reflects the potential of connection: two forces, experiences, or perspectives can create what neither could alone. The painting allows contrasting forms to remain distinct while influencing each other through proximity, tension, and exchange.
